Founded in 2025 we are a Bristol-based architecture studio working across the UK with a focus on the South West, Wales and London. Drawing on extensive experience across residential, commercial and community projects, we bring fresh ideas, commercial awareness and a practical approach to every commission.
We combine creative thinking with practical expertise to deliver beautiful, sustainable and buildable projects. Whether we are helping a homeowner transform their property, supporting a developer to unlock a site’s potential, or creating spaces for businesses and communities, our focus is always the same: exceptional design that makes people's lives better.
We believe good design should add value, not unnecessary cost. By carefully balancing ambition, budget and buildability to create places that make the most of every opportunity and every pound invested.

Nick Ellis ARB
Director
Nick founded Studio Ellis + Co in 2025 to pursue his passion for architecture, problem-solving and creating a positive impact through design.
Throughout his career, he has been committed to delivering innovative and sustainable spaces that are informed by and connected to the communities they serve. He values strong client relationships and takes pride in creating projects that inspire, delight and stand the test of time.
Nick studied Architecture and Sustainable Design at Sheffield Hallam University, graduating in 2010 and receiving nominations for both the RIBA White Rose Award and the RIBA President’s Medals. He went on to study at Cardiff University’s Welsh School of Architecture and the Architectural Association (AA) in London, where he qualified as an architect.
Over a 16-year career, Nick has worked with some of the UK’s leading architectural practices, including Howells, BDP, Patel Taylor and Purcell. He has delivered projects across the residential, heritage, retail, education, regeneration and workplace sectors, gaining extensive experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects from inception to completion.
This breadth of experience underpins Studio Ellis + Co’s approach, combining design ambition with technical expertise, commercial understanding and collaborative project delivery.
